The Pharmaceutical Sciences Program is committed to offer high-quality education to its students, and provide community services in different professional pharmacy settings.

Goals

  1. To graduate a competent and confident pharmacist who has professional knowledge, skills and attitudes and able to contribute with other health care professionals to address the patient’s overall health care needs.
  2. To contribute to developing the health care system in Saudi Arabia and in particular the Qassim region through its students, staff and by providing professional community partnership, research, and educational services.

  • Introduction to Pharmacy Profession

    PHCL 222, Introduction to Pharmacy Profession, 1 (1 + 0)

    The course deals with the stages of development in the pharmacy profession, society's perception and the benefit that it benefited from overtime.


  • Introduction to Drug and Poison Information

    PHCL 328, Introduction to Drug and Poison Information, 2 (0 + 2)

    The course contains the scientific foundations necessary to obtain drug information. Students also learn through the services of the Drug and Poison Information Center that the pharmacist provides to the beneficiaries of medical team members, patients, and the community.


  • Pharmaceutical Care-1

    PHCL 429, Pharmaceutical Care-1, 3(2 + 1)

    The course includes an explanation and presentation of all pharmacy services carried out by the pharmacist within the pharmacy care of patients. This includes:

    Laying the foundations and work procedures for each service.

    - Inventory management for pharmaceutical products.

    - The external pharmacy and mobile pharmaceutical care.

    The internal pharmacy and its branches.

    - The committees in which the pharmacist participates.

    Drug education for patients through a hospital pharmacy or community.

  • Pharmacology Practice

    PHCL 311, Pharmacology practice, 2 (2 + 0)

    The course contains topics showing the types of pharmaceutical practice and its impact on society and the role of the pharmacist through this practice.


  • Pathophysiology-2

    PHCL 415, Pathophysiology-2, 2 (2 + 0)

    Pathophysiology deals with the study of the imbalance that occurs in the physiological functions of different organs of the body as a result of the emergence and development of the disease. The study of these functional changes leads to an understanding and understanding of diseases and symptoms specific to each disease and also an explanation of the results of the laboratory in the light of an understanding of these physiological changes. This helps in the accurate diagnosis of various diseases and an understanding of the role of drugs in treatment.


  • Pharmacotherapy-2

    PHCL 430, Pharmacotherapy-2, 3 (2 + 1)

    The course is concerned with the definition of pathophysiological changes that result from various pathological conditions, taking into account the pharmacological and therapeutic effects. And will review the most recent findings of science in the field of drug therapy in terms of pathophysiology and drug. Optimal choice of medication, design of the regimen, and therapeutic monitoring of medications to ensure therapeutic efficacy and avoid drug effects - these concepts will be supported by a study of multiple cases - overlapping drugs.

  • Pathophysiology Physiology

    PHCL 324, Pathophysiology physiology-1, 2 (2 + 0)

    This course is designed to give students a scientific background and background information on general pathology and how diseases occur. This study helps students understand the functional changes associated with the disease, as well as different diagnostic methods and therapeutic interventions. The changing laboratory indicators associated with the disease will also be studied and linked to physiological changes caused by the occurrence of the disease.

  • Pharmacy Regulations and Ethics

    PHCL 437, Pharmacy Regulations and Ethics, 2 (2 + 0)

    This course examines all pharmaceutical regulations, legislations and regulations that regulate the practice of trading in pharmaceutical products and their practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As well as emphasizing the nature of the profession, its relationship to society and ways to maintain and elevate the profession of the profession.

    And study the systems, regulations and issues that govern and frame. The course will give the ethical aspects of practicing the profession of pharmacy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • Clinical skills for Pharmacist

    PHCL 326, Clinical skills for Pharmacist, 2 (2 + 0)

    The course contains information useful to the pharmacist in critical illnesses, such as an evaluation of the patient's vital symptoms and the necessary first aid. In addition, the pharmacist can link the symptoms and signs accompanying the condition until the correct diagnosis is achieved and then provide the correct and appropriate care for the disease.


  • Pharmacy Management

    PHCL 420, Pharmacy Management, 2 (1 + 1)

    The course aims to prepare the student for future administrative tasks to practice pharmacy in both the government and private sectors. The concept of management theory is linked to goals, as well as managerial functions. This is in addition to teaching the student how to use the statements, budget preparation, drug stock control, and procurement skills in efficiently managing pharmaceuticals.


  • Pharmaceutical Marketing

    PHCL 438, Pharmaceutical Marketing, 2 (2 + 0)

    The course will introduce the student to the basics of marketing within pharmaceutical companies, the tasks of marketing departments, types of research in this field, marketing ethics and employment in marketing management. The student will also be exposed to the types, methods of communication and materials used for drug marketing, as well as their regulation by government health sectors.
