Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) or old drugs into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. It is also called the science of dosage form design

Pharmacognosy is the study of medicines or crude drugs produced from natural sources such as plants, microbes, and animals. It includes analysis of their biological, chemical, biochemical, and physical properties.

Pharmacology is the study of the positive effects that drugs have on living organisms to help in the treatment of disease, while toxicology is the study of the negative effects that chemicals have on living organisms, the knowledge of which assists in the advancement of environmental health

Welcome to Pharmacy Program

The College of Dentistry and Pharmacy offers two Pharmacy programs:

Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical sciences: It is a program in which the student studies during a period of five years a group of specialized sciences in the fields of therapeutic and side effects, pharmaceutical administration and care, drug discovery and development, manufacture and control of drug quality.

Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy): It is one of the advanced programs in the concept and of a specialized nature, the study period extends to six years, including the year of excellence, in which the student studies in addition to the basic pharmaceutical sciences - as well as the Pharmaceutical Sciences Program - a specialized science in patient care and education, monitoring and analysis of the clinical effects of drugs This is to develop and improve pharmaceutical care and patient quality of life, as well as a detailed study of drug economics.

Welcome to the College of Dentistry and Pharmacy, Buraydah Colleges!

As vice dean of the College, I am proud of the strong tradition of providing practical, experiential-based dental and pharmacy education that our college has promoted since its founding. Our dental and pharmacy programs prepare students to become leaders and life-long learners with knowledge, skills, values, and attributes necessary to meet the challenges and needs of a time of critical socio-economic transition. Located in the central city of the Qassim province and its proximity to Qassim university, the College offers unique opportunities for students to engage in various academic and professional activities. Our experiential training courses and community outreach has not only benefited healthcare providers and community but has provided perfect opportunity for our students to begin putting their education into practice.

Central to the success of our students and alumni, has been the professional and experience-based knowledge that our faculty bring into the classroom. The research and community service contributions of our faculty continue to drive change with a positive societal impact at the Buraydah Colleges, in the community, and across the region.

Pharmacy Program Academic Departments

Pharmacy Program Fields of work for Graduates and Admission rules for the programs

A. Admission Conditions for accepting secondary school students

General Terms:

·         The student must have a high school or its equivalent from inside or outside the kingdom.

·         The student must successfully pass any test or personal interview that the College Council sees.

·         The student must be medically fit.

·         The student must obtain approval to study from his employer, if he works in any government or private institution.

·         The student must not have been dismissed from any other university or college for disciplinary terms.

·         Submit the required documents specified by the College Admission Department and pay the registration fees.

·         Admission is made through a comparison between students according to the rates and conditions required to enroll in the major.

·         The student must have a high school within five years ((This condition can be excluded if the remaining conditions are met except for the Dentistry specialization).

Required Documents:

·         Original high school transcript certificate or its equivalent

·         Copy of the civil ID or residence card and passport for non-Saudis with the original residence for matching that are recent and clear

·         Copy of the measurement capabilities test

·         Copy of the achievement test

·         Two recent personal photos (boys only).

 

Effective academic majors and admission requirements for secondary school students

·         Must have obtained a general certificate of secondary education (natural science) or equivalent from within or outside the Kingdom with very good at least 75% or more (For B.Pharm) and 80% or more (Pharm.D)

·         Achievement test (Exam “Tehsilee”) score be not less than 55% and Aptitude test (Exam “Qudraat”) score be not less than 55% as well.

  

B. Admission Conditions for accepting post-secondary school diploma graduates

General Terms:

·         To have a high school or equivalent from inside or outside the kingdom.

·         Be of good conduct.

·         The diploma should not have passed for more than five years (this condition can be excluded if the remaining conditions are met).

·         The student’s general average in the diploma should not be less than good.

·         The desired major should be an extension of the student's major in diploma.

·         The student must pass one of the following standardized tests of English language "for health specialties only":

o   TOEFL Paper-Based (PBT) score of at least 425 or

o   TOEFL Computer-Based (CBT) score of not less than 113 or

o   TOEFL Internet-Based (IBT) score of at least 30 or

o   IELTS score of at least 3.5. or,

o   the English language proficiency test STEP from the National Center for Assessment with a score of no less than 68.

·         Have a valid occupational classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties [for health specialties only].

·         The major should be an extension of its previous major in the diploma.

·         To successfully pass any test or personal interview deemed necessary by the College Council.

·         To be medically fit.

·         To obtain approval to study from his employer, if he works in any government or private institution.

·         Submit the required documents specified by the College Admission and Registration Department.

·         Fill out the admission file.

·         Pay the registration fees.

·         Admission is made through differentiation among students according to the rates and conditions required to enroll in the major (note that the priority of enrollment is for students at high school graduates)

Required documents (postgraduate diploma graduates):

·         The original high school transcript or equivalent.

·         Original certificate of good conduct.

·         Two recent colored photographs, 4 x 6 (boys only).

·         Two copies of the civil status card or the residence permit and the passport for non-Saudis, with the original residence permit for matching, which are recent and clear.

·         The original of the graduation document.

·         Original of academic transcript.

·         Original of the cooperative / excellence training certificate.

·         Original professional classification certificate (for health specialties only).

·         Original + copy of the English language test result (for health majors only).

·         Bring written approval from the employer if the applicant is an employee.
