Cyber Security
Department of Cyber Security
The Cybersecurity Department was established in the College of Engineering and Information Technology in the academic year 1440/1441 AH.
It is one of the newly established branches of computer science, which is of great importance in maintaining the electronic security of institutions in light of the recent rise in electronic transactions and the subsequent increase in cyber-attacks. The program currently includes 29 faculty members. The department is equipped with highly efficient laboratories that cover all the requirements of the specialty, including three computer programming laboratories, a networking lab, and an information database and management lab. The labs are also equipped with analysis and design programs, simulation applications, and information security management. In addition to the student training labs, the department includes several classrooms equipped with all modern teaching supplies, such as data projectors, computers, and the internet. The department also has advanced computing capabilities, both through direct connection to the college labs and through personal computers available in the department's labs. Undoubtedly, the cybersecurity specialization is of paramount importance in driving urban development in the Kingdom. The impact of cybersecurity specialists is reflected in all development plans and various computer projects, including network and communications security, server security, and information security. The study of cybersecurity aims to graduate specialists in various fields of information security capable of promoting the rapid development witnessed by the Kingdom. Cybersecurity specialists find numerous jobs in various development fields, whether in the public or private sectors, in all cities and villages of the Kingdom.
The Cybersecurity Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program.
