About the department:

The department restores and treats oral functions, through the diagnosis and treatment plan, to compensate for missing teeth and related tissues, and to maintain oral functions, comfort, appearance, and health of the patient. The department includes fixed and removable tooth replacement. The department aims to educate and train students practically on a scientific basis in a high-quality academic environment in order to be qualified to occupy a distinguished position compared to the similar departments in advanced universities.

  • Preclinical Removable Prosthodontics

    Course Description:

    This course is the first course in Removable Prosthodontics. It consists of didactic and practical components that cover both complete and removable partial dentures. The course, in general, is designed to prepare the student to understand the biological, mechanical as well as the aesthetic aspect of complete and partial denture treatment with various exercises that simulate the clinical treatment of the patient and practice the preclinical steps.

    Course Description:

    This course is the first course in Clinical Removable Prosthodontics. The course is precisely related to clinical basics of complete Dentures. The clinical component utilized to practice common clinical procedures for patient examination, motivation, and treatment with removable complete dentures.

    This clinical is considered as a completing course for the science of removable prosthodontics. It is a didactic course with clinical component that allows students to acquire skills in examining, diagnosing, and treating the patient with removable partial denture. This course focus on providing the students clinical background for different phases of treatment with Removable partial denture.

    Course Description:

    The course represents the orientation phase to the discipline of fixed prosthodontics. It provides a structured framework for the students to learn the scientific basis and the fundamental principles of planning and restoration of missing or badly damaged teeth with fixed restoration, temporary crowns, and bridges, impressions for fixed prosthodontics, occlusion in fixed prosthodontics. The student will have gathered extensive knowledge of the varied preclinical exercises and laboratory procedures concerned with fixed prostheses fabrication. Students practice sound clinical fixed prosthodontics through a patient simulation models.

    Course Description:

    This course serves as a transitional phase from a preclinical to a clinical environment. It provides a framework for the student to reinforce the concepts for crowns and bridges, biomechanics principles of the simple fixed partial denture. This course introduces the students to the Clinical aspects of delivering patient care in the specialty of fixed prosthodontics. The student is expected to develop the necessary skills for gathering diagnostic information, developing a sequential treatment plan, and performing simple fixed prosthodontics procedures
